Phat Dat Joins Scholarship Program to Support Students
On November 17, at Van Thanh Tourist Park in Binh Thanh District, HCMC, 231 first-year students from the Southeast region and other provinces gathered for the “Scholarship to Support Students to School” program organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper and the HCMC Youth Union.
Among them were 128 first-year students from seven Southeastern provinces and 103 scholarship recipients from other provinces who are currently studying in HCMC but could not attend the program in their hometowns.
The scholarship award ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary, and Director of the Vietnam National University in HCMC; Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee; Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the HCMC Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the HCMC Party Committee; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Deputy Head of the Culture-Society Committee in HCMC People’s Council. Representatives from other city departments and organizations were also present.
Additionally, the organizers included Mr. Ngo Minh Hai, Secretary of the HCMC Youth Union and President of the HCMC Youth Federation; Mr. Le The Chu, Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre; and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre.

The event’s success was bolstered by sponsors from various organizations and businesses, including Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation represented by Mr. Truong Ngoc Dung, Vice President.
Mr. Truong Ngoc Dung expressed his deep emotions upon hearing the inspiring stories of resilience and determination from the students, as shared by Tuoi Tre. He admired their passion for education and their relentless pursuit of knowledge despite numerous challenges. These qualities, he said, inspire confidence in a bright, dynamic, and progressive future for Vietnam, driven by a well-educated and resilient young generation.

Among 128 scholarships for seven Southeastern provinces, totaling over VND 2 billion, there were 124 scholarships worth VND 15 million each and four special scholarships worth VND 50 million for students with particularly challenging circumstances, covering four years of study.
This was the 12th and final scholarship award ceremony of the “Scholarship to Support Students to School” program for 2024, part of Tuoi Tre’s 601st “For Tomorrow’s Development” initiative. In 2024, the program provided scholarships to 1,334 first-year students in difficult circumstances across 63 provinces, with a total funding of over VND 21 billion (VND 15 million per scholarship and 20 special scholarships worth VND 50 million each for four years).
